Mumbai is one of those cities which are extremely famous for amazing street food and Mumbai’s pav bhaji is something that you must try once in your life. But before you do that, why not try the same thing while you are at home?

So, with that, let’s see what the steps are to prepare this amazing dish at home! Follow the instruction below carefully.

For Bhaji

In a pre-heated frying pan, put 3 tablespoons of oil, 1 tablespoon butter, 1 teaspoon cumin, and fry it all for some time. Next, add 3 teaspoons of garlic paste, 4-5 finely chopped onions, and cook it until the color turns a bit brownish.

Next, add 4-5 finely chopped tomatoes to it, and mix it with everything to make the tomatoes a bit softer. Once the tomatoes are soft enough, its time to add some spices to it.

Start with adding 1 tablespoon of salt, then add 1 teaspoon red chili powder and periodically add water to it as you continue to cook. After that, add some boiled peas and mix it with the bhaji.

Add 1-2 teaspoons of pav bhaji masala, 5-6 boiled and mashed potatoes, and mix it all again with the bhaji. Here, you can add some salt to the bhaji if you want, it depends on your taste and preference.

Again, add 1-2 teaspoon pav bhaji masala to the bhaji for extra taste and flavor. Don’t forget to add a bit of water periodically to maintain the taste of everything in a proper balanced way.

In the end, add some more butter to the bhaji and cook it for some time. The bhaji is now ready.

For pav

For the pav, make a paste of butter, coriander and pav bhaji masala to spread or apply on the pav while baking the pav. Cut the pav from in between and put this paste on the inside of it and then bake it on the pan.

Do the same with all the other pav and serve it with the bhaji. That’s it! That’s all you need to do.

Happy Cooking!
