Main Ingredients:
- 1 bowl rawa
- 2 tablespoons curd
- Salt
- 2 chopped green chillies
- 2 medium (finely chopped) onions
- 1 teaspoon ginger
- Water
- Baking soda
- Mustard seeds
- Curry leaves
- Oil
This is South Indian dish, it is kind of a snack which has various names in different parts of the country. Somewhere it called paddu, some people call it guliappa, somewhere it is called gulittu so some people call it yeriyappa or gundponglu. But widely, it is known as Appe.
You can’t say that this is a very heavy dish, it is not! The best part is that it is prepared quickly and you will be able to satisfy your tastebuds to a huge extent until you feel hungry again.
Now, without wasting a second, let’s get to the steps of preparing rawa appe.
Do it like a pro by following the steps below
In a deep bowl, add rava and 2 tablespoon curd and mix it nicely. After mixing, keep it like that for five to ten minutes. You will notice it would become a nice paste after this duration.
In the next step, start with add some salt according to your taste and preference, 2 finely chopped green chillies, 2 medium (finely chopped) onions. Add 1 teaspoon ginger paste and mix it all nicely.
Don’t forget to add some water for proper consistency. Now, add a pinch of baking soda and after mixing it with the paste, keep it aside for around 2 to 3 minutes.
Add some mustard seeds and curry leaves to it and mix it with the paste. It will give an amazing fragrance and unique flavor to the dish.
In this step, you will need a pan to cook appe and shape them as they are usually. So, put the paste in the slots of the pan and cook it. Add some oil to the corners of the slots in the pan.
Close the pan with a lid and cook for around five to seven minutes. Make sure to flip the appe while it is in the slot during the cooking process so as to cook it nicely. This process will take a while to finish and once it is done, your job is also over!
